Jupiter Giraffes in Bronze
Jupiter Giraffes. 2025. Bronze. 25 x 10 x 2.5 cm each.
The giraffe with an eye for a face came to me in a dream a few years ago; I was falling from the sky and I landed on the rocks of Mars. Two enormous giraffes in the distance started moving towards me, and as they came closer I saw that each of their faces were made up of a single large eye. Towering over me, they bent their necks down to look at me with their faceless eye.
In 2021, these giraffes appeared in my acrylic painting Dreams & Other Dimensions. In 2025, I revisited them and created clay sculptures of the Mars Giraffes. From the clay sculpture, I had them cast in bronze, and so the Jupiter Giraffes were born.
